Thanksgiving 09

Dylan had a blast spending Thanksgiving at his grandparents (Steve & Cathy's) this year. He got to see lots of family and friends. Unfortunately he had a bit of a head cold so didn't feel totally himself. He loved watching his big cousin Max run around playing and screaming. And of course his favorite was getting held and loved on by many people!
Here are some pics!

My heart is always melting.....

Everyday Dylan makes my heart melt in some way. Right now it's how he just fell asleep on my shoulder while rocking in the glider and listening to music. Sometimes my heart melts when he makes a new cooing sound or is trying to mimic my facial expression. Other times it's in the morning right after he wakes up, I unswaddle him, and he does a big long stretch and gives me a smile. Many times it's while I'm feeding him, he holds onto my finger and gets so relaxed he just falls asleep. It's always when I watch and listen to him having a conversation and giggling at his daddy's silly faces. I will truly treasure these moments forever and hope I never forget how it feels to have my baby I love so much, melt my heart.

Dylan meets his cousins for the first time!!!

We had such a blast this last weekend visiting with Steven, Tracy, Max & Miles. All the grandsons were finally introduced. It is going to be so much fun watching them grow up together, they all have such distinct little personalities already! Here are some pics! It was definently a babyfest!

All the little baby things....

So, as most first time parents, we were showered with tons of baby gifts! Dylan has such loving and generous family and friends who have already spoiled him rotten! It is so fun using all his new stuff and watching him either enjoy them as well or just look really cute in them (I think he has more clothes then me!) Anyways...here's a review of some of the baby products we can't live without and some things we could have (at least so far!).

Lifesavers:

*Bouncy Seat (he loves sitting on the kitchen counter while we're in there cooking! And it's great for when we take showers)
*Swaddleme (he sleeps so much better in this)
*Summer Video Monitor (LOVE THIS!, it is so nice to be able to see Dylan in addition to hearing him if he cries, especially since he usually just fusses for awhile before crying and he moans in his sleep)
*Baby Bjorn (great for walks, cleaning house, the grocery store, rock band, etc.)
*Soothies pacifiers (the name is all the explanation you need, soothie)
*Sleep Sheep (great white noise)
*Pack N Play (obviously so he can sleep in our room, I do have to say the napper attachment didn't get much use, but the changing table attachment did the first couple weeks)
*My little lamb Swing (he didn't like it so much in the beginning but is really starting to like it now that he can see more, especially the mobile)

Nice to have:

*Bottlewarmer (so much easier then running under warm water, and less wasteful)
*Wipewarmer (nice in the middle of the night when the air is a little chill)
*Boppy (it works better for him to sit in and be propped up in than for breastfeeding support)

Useless:

*Itzbeen (would be useful if it could keep the history of feeding/diaper changes not just the time...we ended up using paper&pen for the first month and it was really nice to be able to look back on when he was eating, how many wet diapers, etc.)
*Dishwasher basket-for bottles, nipples, etc. (I prefer washing by hand, but then again our dishwasher isn't that great and I don't trust it)
*Newborn Shoes (we didn't take him out enough to make them worth it, haha, but they are super cute!)

Happy 2 Month Birthday Dylan!!!

Wow, it is amazing to see how much he has grown! A few things about him.....he is a happy baby! His hair is turning lighter (I think thinning out a bit too). His eyes are still blue and getting lighter. He loves curling his legs up and trying to reach his feet (though he's not grabbing them yet!). He loves talking, cooing, grunting, or making any noise really. He is smiling and giggling a lot more now. We went for his 2 month doc. apt today and he weighs 11 lbs 12 oz's and is 23 1/4in long! Here are some pics!

Sleepy Dylan hanging out with mom!

Dylan's the cat's meow!

We went to Dylan's grandparents (Steve & Cathys) for Halloween to hang out and help hand out candy! Dylan dressed up in his cute little black cat costume that they bought for him before he was born! It's hard to image that next year he'll be walking around and actually trick or treating. Here are some pics:
